You can look at Iron Ochre like plaque in a human artery.  Cholesterol, fat, and calcium (better known as plaque) starts to stick and harden in the arteries, causing them to thin and narrow.  Iron Ochre deposits in your sump, Waterguard System, even your pipes.  When they get clogged, you begin to have water issues.
